Verdi Requiem: Integrating vocal technique and context
Come and enjoy singing Verdi's thrilling masterpiece with expert technical guidance from conductor, vocal coach and professional singer Joanna Tomlinson. This day will appeal to both experienced and less experienced singers and is an ideal opportunity to discover new ways to approach a performance of this wonderfully operatic sacred work.
By exploring tips and tools applicable to the many different vocal challenges in the Verdi, Joanna will help us to improve our sound and intonation and sing with a greater palette of vocal colours. She will show how to achieve vocal security and flexibility in order to express the text and the music more convincingly.
Joanna studied voice as a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music before training as a conductor. She has a depth of choral experience as Music Director of the internationally renowned Farnham Youth Choir, as well as Whitehall Choir and Constanza Chorus in London.
